These projects all have short-term goals. Ideally each contributes to a campaign with a clear, well-defined path to a goal. Ideally, there are targets—people, institutions—that the project (and/or campaign) pressures and which, if pressured, can help achieve the goal.

Vegan-friendly cosmetics brand LUSH is launching the “Shark Attack” campaign to save sharks from slaughter on World Oceans Day (June 8). Starting today, LUSH will re-launch its popular vegan Shark Fin Soap online (available in-store starting June 8) and donate 100 percent of the $5.95 sales price to The Rob Stewart Sharkwater Foundation, an organization created to continue the work of late ocean conservationist and filmmaker Rob Stewart.

Activists have taken a Trojan horse into the grounds of the British Museum to protest against its sponsorship deal with the oil corporation BP.

Protesters dressed as ancient Greek warriors snuck their 13ft-tall wooden horse through a side gate at 7.30am on Friday and pulled it on to the forecourt in front of the museum’s entrance.

At the end of June of this year, as France sweated through record high temperatures, a group of men took a moment to escape the heatwave and compete in the inaugural Mr Triton France competition.

Organised by Merman Ludo, the event – which organisers believe might be the first of its kind in the world – saw ten competitors from all over the country face off in a battle to be the best merman France has ever seen.
