Fossil Free Eugene Favorite

Eugene OR

A group of protestors and organizers from Sunrise Movement, Earth Guardians, 350 Eugene, Cascadia Wildlands and more staged a bike march culminating with a die-in outside of the Northwest Natural Gas headquarters in Eugene, Oregon.

The protestors lie on the ground outside the NWN building, beneath tombstones donning the dangers of natural gas.

This action - part of the larger Fossil Free Eugene campaign - was meant to bring attention to the dangers of fracking and fossil fuel use and to put pressure on to call attention to Eugene’s 2014 Climate Recovery Ordinance’s ability to meet its planned goal — a 50% reduction in fossil-fuel use by 2010 standards by 2030. Sunrise Eugene argues that under current standards, this goal will not be met.
