Social distancing guidelines didn’t stop members of Refuse Fascism Philly from criticizing President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic on Saturday.

Rather than march as a crowd through Center City, a handful of protesters from the group, which has repeatedly called for Trump’s removal, drove their cars through Philadelphia before arriving at the Trump National Golf Club in Pine Hill, N.J.

Wearing face coverings and maintaining social distance, they laid “body bags” symbolizing the pandemic’s victims at the club’s front gate. A group of police officers wearing respirators monitored the peaceful demonstration, after which the protesters removed their props and drove home.

If the goal of the project is merely to criticize, then it was effective, even though the demonstration was not largely covered by the press. How has Refuse Fascism Philly, in the past, really pushed for the removal of Trump from office? There is creativity in this example here, but a lack of activism.
