In the UK, the secretary of state Theresa May is attempting to pass a new investigatory draft bill that would essentially rid all British citizens of the right to privacy and security on the internet. Internet providers will be required to maintain user's browser history for 12 months amongst other things. In light of these revelations, it seems privacy will no longer be a basic human right, but an add-on option to our internet services.

At Theresa May's speech to the Conservative Party conference, comedian Simon Brodkin crept up to the stage and handed the Prime Minister a P45 form (the form that bosses in the UK use to formally fire their employees), telling her "Boris told me to do it."

Called 'A History of BP in 10 Objects', the exhibition featured artifacts submitted by frontline communities around the world who are fighting back against the impacts of BP's operations.

Environmental activist Ella Daish has created a giant tampon applicator as part of a protest against single-use plastic. The piece is made out of period plastic found polluting beaches, waterways, and local ecosystems in the UK. Daish sourced 1,200 applicators from 15 different locations across the United Kingdom. Of the plastic applicators collected for the project, 87.5 percent came from one brand, Tampax.

"Small charities of today are in threat. Charitable donations are down. Fewer people are donating. Those that do donate are giving less. Whilst bigger charities are better equipped to deal with this flux (with money to spend on large advertising campaigns), smaller charities are facing a more uncertain future. For the Pilion Trust, a small frontline charity working with homeless and disadvantaged people in London, times are tough.

A village shop in Coniston is stocked by local producers with everything from farm meat and vegetables to paintings and knitted goods. The produce is all homemade and brought in by local suppliers. Customers are invited to buy goods in the shop for an 'honest' price, there are guideline price tags attached to the items by the producer but customers are expected to pay what they consider an honest, suitable price for the item.
