In a twist on the Broken Windows Theory, street artists are using their skills to combat urban blight in Baltimore with "The Slumlord Project". By drawing the attention of neighbors to abandoned and vacant properties and giving pertinent ownership information to take action on, 17 artists are spray painting and wheat-pasting in a D.I.Y.

When Fred Wilson did an installation at the Maryland Historical Society in 1992, he shook up the museum world. Co-sponsored by the historical society and the Contemporary Museum, Mining the Museum did not involve artwork made by the artist; rather, it involved reinstalling items from the historical society's collection in such a way as to make us reconsider them.

"In preparation for tomorrow's election, members of artist-activist project Luminous Intervention beamed ballot-question themed slogans onto a bridge over Route 83 during rush hour traffic this evening. Today's action followed on the heels of an equality-themed luminous alteration of The Natty Boh/Utz Girl proposal billboard in Station North on Friday.
