We all learn art in school. Every kid loves to draw at some point. People get fascinated with the details of their new camera, or spend free time writing poems. But eventually, there’s a not a teacher telling you how great your are, or the camera gets put away, or you just plain get busy and stop. Years could go by before you start again, if you ever do at all.

"Superbarrio Gomez and his journey in the construction of a "politics of the possible" (1) , an alternative political imaginary constituted via popular culture and the construction of a national and transnational social movement. Superbarrio makes evident the collapse between politics and performance; he forces us to think beyond the performance of politics in order to understand the politics of performance.

The Democracy Machine! is a performative sculpture that gives participants the opportunity to experience the thrill of democracy in action, in a competitive game that challenges people to work together toward understanding a better society. Using the spectacle and play of performance drawn from Las Vegas Casinos, gambling machines and game shows, The Democracy Machine!

Girl Be Heard is a theatre company founded by Artistic Director, Ashley Marinaccio and Executive Director, Jessica Greer Morris, which melds talent and background to create social justice theatre. The company has performed throughout New York City and worldwide to tackle global issues. Their productions include 9mm America, a Theatrical Uprising Against Violence, Girlpower: Survival of the Fittest, Trafficked, Project Girl: Congo, and Child Bride.

Memetro is a non-profit cultural organisation, which has developed a web application for smartphones for all people who have a transitory memory upset. The term ‘memetro’ is a merging of two concepts‘Meme’ from the Spanish expression, and the film ‘Memento’. People with TMG (Transitory Global Memetro) very often forget to validate their ticket of public transport, especially on the subway.

For a class project at Northern Illinois University, we were tasked with performing an act of artistic activism on campus. We choose to raise awareness about the student health insurance policy. The policy at NIU states that if you do not have your own form of insurance, you are automatically charged for the university’s insurance plan, which costs $1,224 per semester.

First cut the banks! In 2012 Bankia declared itself bankrupt and, almost immediately, asked the Government of Spain for €23 billion. The Government accepted, yet that very same week ordered €20,000 million worth of cuts in health and education. It was then that we realized that what they called a crisis was actually a scam. You wouldn’t believe how pissed off we were. So we threw a party, because there is nothing like partying to relieve your anger.
