True Connection is a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, driven by young female visionaries who set out to reach new horizons in healing, empowerment, education, and community building. We are pioneering a truly innovative “Healing Arts Program,” which integrates trauma education, expressive arts therapy, and natural healing techniques and modalities to help children recover, learn and grow from their traumatic life experiences. At True Connection we are redefining this highly misinterpreted and often neglected subject to shed light on the truths about individual, generational and cultural trauma and the vast scope of its impact.

The Healing Arts Program

Our newly developed Healing Arts Program is a proprietary and comprehensive curriculum that provides students of all backgrounds a safe place to share their fears and tell their stories, learn effective coping skills, express their creative gifts, and unlock their own innate capacity to heal and to thrive. Education on causes, symptoms and triggers enhance the students’ knowledge about the roots of trauma and its effects on the brain and body. Daily somatic exercises interweave breath work, visualization, mindfulness and meditation to build awareness of bodily sensations, hyper arousal and dissociation. These grounding and centering techniques help connect mind to body and give students tools to stabilize and alleviate traumatic stress symptoms and build self-esteem and resiliency. Expressive arts therapy allows students to nonverbally release suppressed instincts and creatively express these sensations and emotions through activities such as painting, drawing, filmmaking, music, dance, photography, indigenous crafts, journaling and story-telling. The program steers a natural path of self-discovery and self-healing for deprived youth, breeding a felt sense of safety, trust, and community, alongside worth and autonomy.

True Connection

Trauma is still a highly disregarded and misinterpreted subject. Yet, it is the root of violence, numbness, dissociation, disconnectedness and the main cause of human suffering. People with abuse and trauma histories face a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, substance abuse and dependence, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, somatization, eating disorders and post traumatic stress disorders.

We address the need for an empowered female presence and perspective that delivers effective support, guidance and education to the children who will lead future generations. We are here to create a new pathway to profound openness, connectedness, and an evolving intention to improve family dynamics, prevent drug use, crime, incarceration, and juvenile court system spending. These invaluable education tools also foster local community building and multi-cultural integration and humility. When we learn to heal our bodies, our minds, our collective wounds and traumas, we learn to embrace our wholeness and a deeper sense of unity, empathy, purpose and True Connection.

We would like to build a network of resources and collaborate with you to effectively empower many precious lives for the better. There are so many ways to join forces, get involved, support and help heal and empower those who need it most all over the world. You can make a difference and advocate for global health and justice.
